Yesterday was one of those boringly normal sundays. Well, not really. The family of Rose celebrated a birthday.  And for that matter I should serve a proper festive cake. But who wants to spend hours in the kitchen when youve got other things to think about? I wouldn’t, at least not this time. Therefore, I came up with something quick and simple: my chocolate tart.

Before you start pondering about the form of this cake: I usually use a round springform pan. But this time I was longing for some square pieces

three or four pieces of chocolate tart

Chocolate tart with hot cherrie sauce

I am a little bit surprised that this recipe hasn’t made it to my blog earlier. ‘Cause this chocolate tart is the very first cake I ever baked successfully without burning down the kitchen. And it’s the very first cake that is loved by everyone. And I really mean EVERYONE. Even the worst cake sceptic would try to claim a whole cake for himself/herself.

Maybe I am exaggerating a bit. But what about trying it out for yourself? I promise, one piece of this chocolate tart and you will melt away:

  3. The oven has to have a temperature of about 347F (175°C) Line a square baking pan or a round baking pan with parchment paper and pour the dough into it. Bake it for at least 25 minutes.
Recipe Notes

It's best served warm and topped with hot cherry sauce, vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
