Oh! Looking at my recipe archive, I just realised that it’s almost a year since I posted this easy-peasy Strawberry Mascarpone Mousse. So,I should definitely post another super easy dessert. Since the last one originally came from my granny’s recipe collection, I took another one from her treasured book. It’s a dessert made of quark and layered with cherries and crunchy muesli. Due to this she benignly called it muesli dream.

She usually served this dessert in a huge bowl so that everyone could spoon a proper load onto his or her plate. Superb! But trouble was sure to follow. I mean, everyone wanted as much cherries as possible and even more of the crunchiness.  To avoid such problems I used Mason jars with the same amount of cherries and crunchy muesli. Equality for all those dessert-loving people out there. Yay!

And those jars are portable which means I could store them in a basket and eat them during a picknick.

  1. Rinse the cherries. Mix them with cinnamon and sugar and refridgerate them for at least 6 hours (or over night).
  2. Mix the quark with powdered sugar and cream cheese. Whip the whipping cream together with the vanilla sugar until stiff peaks form and carefully fold it into the quark mixture.
  3. Fill the mixture into a piping bag with a regular round tip. (This way you avoid those nasty blots on the inside of your jars). You can now layer the dessert:
  4. 1. layer: quark mixture (until the bottom is covered) 2. layer: 6-8 of your prepared cherries 3. layer: 1-2 tablespoons of crunchy muesli 4. layer: quark mixture 5. layer: 6-8 your prepared cherries 6. layer: 1-2 tablespoons of crunchy muesli last layer: quark mixture (a small heap like on a cupcake) and decorate it with one or two prepared cherries
