The roasted almond chocolates have been the initial trick, but the second follows quick. It’s another homemade chocolate creation. Let me introduce you to these cocoa truffles with baileys.
A cozy winter feeling is finally taking over our hearts by indulging all our senses. We’ve decorated our houses with fir branches, fairy lights and Christmas ornaments. We listen to Christmassy songs almost 24 hours a day. And countless scented candels fill the air with fragrant wintry flavours. So, there is only one thing left to top off the wintry coziness – a sweet little treat for our taste buds. It should be a typical christmas treat with all the flavours that pop into our minds while thinking about the best time of the year. Of course, we could bake cookies. It’s THE season for lots of cookies. But I am thinking about something else. Something you won’t need your oven for – Homemade roasted almond chocolates with a dash of Orang liqueur.
For today’s sweet treat I want to take you to beautiful Italy. To Sicily to be exact. ‘Cause these little fellas are a Sicilian tradition – crunchy (deep-fried) canoli with a cappuccino and stracciatella cream filling.
It’s unbelievable how time flies. A year ago on the tenth of July I blogged my first recipe. My little babay, Domi’s Bake Farm, is now one year old and this has to be celeberated properly. But how? Do I organize a contest with lots of prizes or do I spend this day in a more private way? It took me some time to decide. Although I would have loved to give you nice little presents for your loyalty, I opted for a small celebration with my loved ones instead. And when inviting guests for an afternoon coffee party, you need a cake. I didn’t want an ordinary birthday cake with a candle on top. No! I baked this meringue garnished with fresh strawberries and a pistachio cream.
Unfortunately my summer vacation is now over but that also means you don’t have to wait any longer for a new recipe. Being back in Germany, I’ve visited the supermarket nearby to get new inspiration for baked goodies. Don’t fret! Star-shaped cinnamon biscuits and a chocolatey Santa Clause won’t take part this time. But I thought, if the supermarket is already advertising christmas season, I create an autumnal atmosphere here on my blog. And these Campfire Cupcakes might just be the right thing to get started.
